Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer? The app itself tells you what is wrong and which button fixes it. Open the service or link details first.

Basics

Is Loggia free?

Yes. Loggia 1.0 is free to download and use.

What do I need?

A Mac with macOS 26 or later, a Cloudflare account, and at least one domain managed by Cloudflare.

Do I have to pay Cloudflare?

Publishing uses Cloudflare Tunnel, which is free. Access protection needs Zero Trust set up on your account, and the free plan is enough. Your domain is billed by its registrar as usual.

Does my Mac have to stay on?

Yes. Your services keep running on your Mac; Loggia only gives them a public address. While the Mac is asleep, off or offline, the address can't be reached. The connector starts at login, so services come back as soon as your Mac does.

Does my traffic go through your servers?

No. Visitors reach your services through Cloudflare, straight to your Mac. Loggia has no servers of its own and collects no data. See Privacy.

Cloudflare and the API token

Which permissions does the API token need?

In onboarding or in Settings › Account, click Create a Token on Cloudflare. It opens a template with the permissions already selected, so you only need to confirm it. The template includes:

Account › Cloudflare Tunnel › EditRequired
Zone › DNS › EditRequired. Zone Resources can be limited to the domains you use.
Account › Access: Apps and Policies › EditOptional, for access protection
Account › Access: Organizations, Identity Providers, and Groups › EditOptional, lets Loggia set up the email-code login for you

Settings › Account lists each permission and has Copy Permission List if you prefer to create the token yourself. The token is stored only in your Mac's keychain.

I just fixed the token's permissions, but Loggia still says they're missing.

Changes on Cloudflare take a minute or two to take effect. Wait a moment, then click Check Again in Settings › Account.

Why can't I turn on access protection?
  • The service has to be published first.
  • The token needs both Access permissions listed above.
  • Your Cloudflare account needs Zero Trust set up. The free plan is enough. Once it is set up, click Check Again in Settings › Account.
With access protection on, who can open my service?

Only the email addresses you list, or everyone at a domain if you add @example.com. Visitors get a one-time code by email. A login lasts 24 hours by default, and you can change that.

Will Loggia overwrite a domain I already use?

Not silently. If the domain already points somewhere else, Loggia stops and asks you before changing anything.

Troubleshooting

A service shows as down. Where do I start?

Open the service. Loggia shows which part of the link is broken (your local service, the domain record, the connector on your Mac, or Cloudflare), why, and the button that fixes it. A new domain record can take a few minutes to take effect.

I use a proxy app and the status is wrong or Loggia can't connect.

In enhanced or TUN mode, a proxy app can take over the connection to Cloudflare. In the proxy app, route argotunnel.com directly (or add Loggia and cloudflared to its direct rules), then click Try Again.

Where can I see what the connector is doing?

Settings › Runtime shows whether cloudflared is installed and running, its version and last exit code, and its log. If something keeps failing, you can export diagnostics there.

Updates and uninstalling

How do I update Loggia?

Click Check for Updates in Settings › About. When there is a new version, download it from the download page and drag it to Applications to replace the old one; your settings and services are kept. To hear about new versions, subscribe to the changelog in your RSS reader.

How do I uninstall Loggia completely?
  1. In Settings › Account, click Remove Everything… to delete Loggia's domain records, routes and access protection from Cloudflare.
  2. Quit Loggia and move it from Applications to the Trash.
  3. In Terminal, run launchctl bootout gui/$(id -u)/com.yangflow.loggia.cloudflared, then delete ~/Library/Application Support/Loggia and ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.yangflow.loggia.cloudflared.plist.
  4. Delete the “Loggia” items in Keychain Access.
